NHS
"Get in the Know" Campaign

I had the opportunity to work on the design for the NHS "Get in the Know" campaign, a national initiative aimed at helping people make informed decisions about which health services to contact in different emergency situations. The goal was to streamline access to the right care, providing essential information that would guide users through the healthcare system.

Design Approach

My focus was on creating an intuitive, user-friendly web experience that allowed visitors to easily access crucial information. The campaign’s core objective was to ensure that users could quickly determine the appropriate healthcare service for their needs. I prioritized clean navigation and clear visual hierarchy, so users could find information without feeling overwhelmed.

User-Centered Design

By understanding the user’s mindset during emergencies, I aimed to reduce stress and confusion through simple, direct design elements. The content was structured in a way that allowed for quick scanning, while the use of iconography and bold typography made important resources easy to identify.

Outcome

The "Get in the Know" web pages became a key resource for people in Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland. The design provided clear, accessible information that encouraged return visits, helping the community better navigate emergency situations and make informed healthcare choices. The campaign was aired on TV, The Radio, Out of Home adverts (Billboards) and Social Media.

The work was unlike anything else I had seen for the NHS.
